The company is the latest firm to charge passengers who refuse shots, reportedly adding a “vaccine requirement” to its online reservation form.
Carnival Cruise Line announced that they will be changing their policy and charging guests who are not vaccinated a fee. The new fee is $100 per person, which is the same amount as the cost of the vaccine. Read more in detail here: carnival cruise announcement today.
Over the previous several weeks, Carnival Cruise Line has been busy implementing modest changes to its policies. The testing charge for younger unvaccinated customers has been reduced in the most recent modification to the cruise line’s Have Fun. Be Safe policies.
Changes in Testing Fees
Carnival Cruise Line implemented a modest policy adjustment on April 12 that affected only a limited number of passengers. The change, however, is critical for those visitors to be aware of, and it is tied to testing prices for younger unvaccinated guests.
The testing fee for unvaccinated children aged 5-11 has been lowered to $60. Previously, the charge for guests aged 5 and above was $150. Any fees will be charged to the guest’s Sail & Sign account.
Protocols for the Carnival
The price for unvaccinated visitors aged 12 and above will remain at $150 per person. Testing will now be offered free of charge to children aged 2-4. Previously, the price for visitors aged 2-4 was $60.
Guests who asked for a vaccine exemption or who are traveling with a kid under the age of 11 received a letter explaining the changes as well. Important criteria for testing and beach excursions on sailings until December 31, 2022 are also included in the letter.

Carnival Cruise Line continues to follow the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s standards (CDC). Unvaccinated passengers aged two and above will be required to perform a pre-cruise PCR test as well as an antigen test at the terminal before embarkation.
On cruises lasting more than four days, an antigen test will be required 24 hours prior to embarkation.
Since the latest update on April 7, 2022, the procedures for beach trips have remained unchanged. Guests aged 12 and above who have not been vaccinated are not permitted to walk ashore on their own. The only way to see and appreciate the ports is to travel ashore on a cruise line-arranged beach excursion.
Carnival recently phased off “bubble” excursions, giving customers a far larger range of options. The “bubble” excursions were authorized for passengers who had not been vaccinated and provided additional precautions while onshore.
There is no necessity for younger visitors aged 11 and under to book a Carnival beach excursion in order to go ashore. They are allowed to visit the ports with their immunized parents or guardians.
