“We’re ecstatic to be sailing to Nassau with our flagship Mardi Gras and to welcome Prime Minister Davis and his senior team onboard,” Duffy added. “We look forward to working closely with the Prime Minister and his cabinet as we continue to restart ships in our fleet, bring more visitors to The Bahamas, and show our dedication to the health, safety, and well-being of our guests, crew, and the places we visit,” Carnival said.

The Carnival cruise ship has already made spectacular stops along the way, including a visit from the ship’s godmother, Miss Universe Dominican Republic. On October 26, Mari Gras arrived in San Juan, where she was greeted by the incumbent Miss Universe, Puerto Rico, Estefania Soto-Torres, and the arriving Miss Universe, Puerto Rico, Michelle Colón.
The next day, on October 27, the ship docked at Amber Cove, Dominican Republic, the home country of Mardi Gras’ Godmother Miss Universe, Kimberly Jiménez. Even on the penultimate sea day, October 28, a record-breaking fundraising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was conducted aboard, raising $21,600.
Unfortunately, the trip, which has been full of fun, will conclude on Saturday, October 30 at Port Canaveral, Florida, in preparation for the next journey, which will be a seven-day Western Caribbean itinerary.
The Bahamas’ Importance for Carnival
“We value our business relationships throughout The Bahamas, whether it’s through our investments in destinations and facilities like the Grand Bahamas Shipyard, local tourism and excursion partners who employ many Bahamians, or the Bahamas Maritime Administration, which shares our commitment to safety and environmental protection.” “We’re happy and honored to continue to grow the number of ships we’ve registered here,” said Domenico Rognoni, Carnival Cruise Line’s senior vice president of compliance. “In all sectors of our company, the Bahamas’ knowledge, collaboration, and professionalism play a critical role in our marine operations.”
