Cheap airfare, business class flights and innovative hotel booking options are just a few of the many benefits that travel has to offer in 2018. Nowadays, it’s not enough for an experience or trip to be merely pleasurable; customers will also demand that companies cater to their digital needs as well.

The “business travel trends 2022” is a new trend that has emerged in the business world. The need for more productivity and efficiency is making this a popular choice among businesses.

The desire of American employees to return to business travel has been mirrored in a number of studies, and the new data from American Express’ Trendex Survey coincides with other recent statistics suggesting that business travel is poised for a boom.

According to American Express, 75 percent of business travelers and 81 percent of regular business travelers want to travel for business from now until the end of the year.

Conferences, job training, and networking opportunities are among the most common reasons for business travelers to travel.

What’s Hot Right Now

Conferences were the most common cause for a business trip, with 31% of those polled saying they would be traveling for work in the next six months for that purpose. Work-related training came in second with 27% of the vote.

At the present, millennials are the most likely to be traveling for work. Almost one-quarter of millennials stated they would travel in the next six months for networking possibilities.

At the present, summer is a popular season for business travelers. Summer months piqued the attention of half of business tourists (50 percent). The interest was greatest among Gen-Z and Millennial business travelers (62% and 62%, respectively) (57 percent).

With older generations, there still seems to be some apprehension about traveling for employment. Nearly half (44%) of Baby Boomer business travelers stated they had no plans to travel this year.

Bleisure

Another classic pre-pandemic pastime is making a resurgence: blissure travel is making a comeback. According to the Trendex poll, more than half of business travelers (53%) would like to take a “bleisure vacation,” which combines work and leisure travel.

Because they work remotely, 55% of business travelers are more inclined to turn their business trip into a vacation, and 66% of business travelers said they would consider adding days to their business trip to see the place they are visiting.

Friends and family

In a post-pandemic world, a new trend for business travelers may be forming. Work-from-home trends are blurring the barriers between home and workplace, just as they are blurring the lines for business travel.

Eighty-three percent of parents want to travel for work this autumn, and 60% are more inclined to contemplate a bleisure vacation today than they were before the outbreak.

Because of remote work, about the same number said they are more inclined to bring family members on business travels (59 percent).

It should come as no surprise that enticing business travelers with families requires a strong focus on location. Beach and ocean resorts are the most driving element of a bleisure vacation (48 percent), yet just 35 percent of this group is seeking for kid-friendly activities as a feature at their destination.

Sixty-nine percent of parent business travelers would consider extending their work trip by a day or two to see the location they’re visiting.

Business travel is a growing industry, and with that comes new trends. The “business travel examples” are some of the most popular trends in business travel today.
