Beginning in late March, Citibank will make adjustments to the Citi® Double Cash Card (and the changes are positive). They’re getting rid of the $25 minimum to redeem for cash and instead awarding ThankYou points directly for card spend (which can still be converted to cash at the same rate) – so there’s no need to convert the points to ThankYou points before doing other things with them, like transferring those points to airline miles if you have a Citi Premier® Card.
Cardmembers will receive 1 point for every $1 spent on purchases and an extra point for every $1 paid on the purchase amount each billing cycle. Citi Double Cash cardholders may still redeem points for cash back (through direct deposit, statement credit, or check) at the same redemption value (1,000 ThankYou Points = $10 in cash rewards, for example). There will also be no minimum redemption amount of $25 for a statement credit or direct deposit, and points will never expire as long as an account is operational.
