Virtuoso Travel Week is underway in Las Vegas, with over 20 events and activities planned for the week. The event will be live streamed on our website and social media channels, so viewers can join in the adventure virtually or in real life!
Virtuoso virtual travel week is a term used to describe the time of year when many people start planning their travels. The term was first coined by Virtuoso, and it has since become popularized.
The Virtuoso Travel Week has begun in Las Vegas. Following a virtual event in 2020 due to the pandemic, this year is a hybrid event that is successfully bringing together hundreds of travel advisers and vendors from across the globe.
The events last from August 8-12, 2021, across three hotels, the Bellagio Resort & Casino, Vdara Hotel & Spa and Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
The event is only accessible to those who have been vaccinated, although it does include its trademark one-on-one networking meetings for both in-person and virtual participants. The event also offers professional development opportunities, as well as keynote speakers, prizes, and acknowledgment of the numerous advisors’ accomplishments.
What’s Hot Right Now
This year’s event began while travel is on the rise after a record decrease in business in 2020. After months of battling to stay afloat, the industry has moved into recovery mode.
Hotel reservations are up 122 percent, and cruise bookings are nearing 2019 levels, with bookings up 79 percent from 2020, according to recent statistics from Virtuoso given during the media conference.
Virtuoso advisers are also more optimistic about the future, with 51% stating they are comfortable/confident in their companies, and the majority of the network’s travel advisors reporting that they are booking new, full-revenue trips once again.
For both travel advisers and customers, trends are shifting. People are once again choosing city breaks as a holiday destination. The days of the vacant middle seats are long gone, as wellness retreats are being replaced with more adventurous getaways. Travelers are also returning to Europe, and space flight is no longer just a pipe dream.
In a survey of tourists, the majority (64 percent) stated that going again was exciting yet different. The survey also revealed that people are becoming more confident in cruising, with 26% saying they would go on a cruise in September 2020 and 46% saying they would in June 2021.
The “Conscious Comeback,” which Virtuoso is committed to pursuing with its partners, is one element of the return to travel that is frequently emphasized by Virtuoso throughout the conference. Virtuoso has released a new white paper on sustainability that outlines the network’s sustainability pillars and sheds light on how the travel industry may strive toward a more sustainable future.
Virtuoso also touts the popularity of its famous Wanderlust product, which engages customers via lists and converts bucket lists into reservations as clients fulfill their travel goals after almost two years at home.
